Editing

Hi guys, I’ve finished filming my entire commercial. Last week, I recorded the final scenes for this project. I tried my best to make the scenes align with the storyboard, being that those were our instructions. I was going to blog the filming process afterward, but I decided to do so during the process itself.  I was not in charge of filming, the scenes were recorded on the male model's phone. Since I would be editing my own, the videos and pictures had to be sent to me. We were instructed to have backups and our footage in numerous locations or a secure one by our teacher. Therefore, I uploaded the photos and videos to my google drive because there, it would be secure. First, I cut my footage using my own photos app. Then, I used the editing software to align the videos in order for the commercial. I had to look back to my story board to make sure it was still in correlation with what I'd previously written. I am not in school, so all of the editing is being done on my own personal computer. We were also instructed to not go over the limit which is 30 seconds, so I had to cut some of the videos that we recorded that were too long. Without editing the scenes the commercial would have been about two minutes. The layout of the commercial will be the women's clothing first. I decided to put them first because I am a woman and we deserve to be prioritized in terms of fashion. We are often sexualized by what we wear but that wasn’t the central idea. Regardless of personal feelings, I decided to challenge conventions and use male models as well. All the models were African American, this also was a change in the usual way they promote clothing. The men's clothing was displayed last. I’m going to add transitions that aren’t too choppy but that also aren’t so slight that they aren’t visible.
