Filming

 On Tuesday, I started filming my commercial. I brought my different outfits or the commercial. My partner also brought his clothes for the men's portion. Outfit changes were done in the car. Different angles were made sure to be done in the pictures as well as the videos. It was getting dark outside when we started filming so we had to make the little bit of light we had and the flash work. Finding a spot in the area I was filming was kind of hard. They had nice art walls but, it also had dirt and grass which would be in the shots. The lighting was also bad in some areas. The pictures and videos had to be shot in the same area. We had to take a lot of breaks because people kept walking by. Some people were also speaking to us. We had to take to lots of pictures and videos. Some of the pictures came out kind of blurry. Some of the videos came out wrong because we forgot to turn on the flash and you could barely see who was modeling the clothes. The women's clothing was recorded and photographed first. It was kind of scary changing in the car because it was almost completely dark and anyone could have came by. After that, the men's clothes were modeled.  It was hard trying to keep a straight face the whole time and not laugh. Overall, it was fun filming this commercial.

 Hi. Welcome back to my blog. Today is March 8 and we still have not started filming. Our first filming date was supposed to be March 5 which was a day we had school. My group members also had to work. I knew from that that we wouldn’t have much success in filming together that day. As I stated before, most of the filming will be done at our own houses. This is because the covid-19 cases are still high. We’re trying not to be too close to each other during this process. While brainstorming for ideas for this film we thought of us having a conversation on the phone. This will show us all at our own houses. We will eventually meet up to film the last part of our movie. We just have to know each other’s schedules. Some days we want to record, I might have practice. 1.  How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? My product uses conventions by using actual people instead of mannequins to model the clothes. It also uses conventions by having different angles. My product challenges conventions by using both genders in one commercial and I didn't use a green screen for my background. It represents social groups by helping people express themselves through clothing. It also allows videographers to perfect their craft. It represents social issues because there is a lack of representation for people of color in fashion, it promotes gender equality by having an equal amount of both gender models.
